Nebraska Poised as 21st State to Ban on Texting While Driving





State lawmakers have advanced a bill from the first round of debate that would ban all drivers from text messaging because of it being a distraction. It's a priority bill for Lexington Senator John Wightman, "Texting has been indicated as one of the most dangerous actions you can take out on the highway. If the bill were to get final legislative approval and be signed by Gov. Dave Heineman, Nebraska would join 20 other states and the District of Columbia with an all-out ban. Already, people under 18 years old in Nebraska are prohibited from texting and talking on cell phones while driving.
