Police Chief Tom Casady Comments on KFOR's Morning Show
Six marijuana growing operations are seized and police work to see if there are more out there. The latest bust on Saturday, went down in the 1100 block of North 28th, where 100 recently harvested plants and 50 live plants were found. Chief Tom Casady says big time money is involved. "What we've really discovered here is that there is an awful lot of money to be made in growing marijuana, I mean, tens of thousands of dollars have been spent to set these grow operations up," Casady tells the KFOR Morning Show Monday. As of Sunday, more than 4,600 marijuana plants have been found, valued at between $5.6 and $9.3 million dollars. Chief Casady compares the one-week haul to the last ten YEARS, totaling just over 12 hundred plants in 34 cases.
