A Lincoln Southwest High School junior dies in a crash near her home. Emily Johnson was one of the two 16 year old drivers involved in the collision at 34th and Pine Lake Road Saturday shortly before noon. The other driver, Taylor Mortensen of Lincoln, is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses told police, according to LPD Captain Chris Peterson that Johnson was south on 34th, had stopped, then entered the intersection. Johnson's car was struck on the drivers side door by the westbound car driven by Mortensen. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
