Be Safe Handling Fireworks This Year

LINCOLN -- Remember, you can only LEGALLY shoot off fireworks in Lincoln only Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4.  Fireworks can be shot off Thursday from 8am to 11pm and Friday from 8am to midnight.  Lincoln Fire Inspector Don Gross told KFOR's Coby Mach on Tuesday afternoon things like bottle rockets, helicopters or any fireworks that fly and have a loud boom are illegal within Lincoln's city limits.  Have a bucket of water or a garden hose handy, in case any of your fireworks start a fire.  If you have a firework display that doesn't go off, let it sit there for a few minutes and put it in water to make sure there isn't any thing burning.  Also, supervise your kids when they are shooting off fireworks, so they don't hurt themselves.
