Fortune Magazine Ranks Nebraska High for Market Capiitalization
Fortune Magazine is out with its top companies. No surprise that Wal-Mart leads the list, posting profits of more than $1 trillion, shattering last year's record by about $300 billion, all while not hiring additional people. Nebraska shows up in this year's Fortune list of states doing very, very well, demonstrating a shift in geography. Nebraska is among nine states showing a collective market capitalization of companies growing an average of 12% per year since 1995, almost double than most other states. Nebraska is on that lofty list along with California, Texas, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, Arkansas and Wisconsin.
