Juveniles Suspected on Stealing Vehicle, Assaulting Officers
(6-5-14) Two girls not old enough to legally drive have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and assaulting officers who tried to stop them. The girls, ages 12 and 13, were arrested Tuesday night after they were found trying to fill up a stolen minivan at a gas station. Both girls had been reported missing earlier Tuesday by their families. A Police spokesman says the girls resisted being taken into custody and assaulted officers who spotted the stolen van. The 13-year-old girl was released to a parent. The 12-year-old girl is being held in a juvenile detention center.
