Communication Restored After Southeast Nebraska Line Cut

(6-2-14) Folks around Peru, Brownville and Nemaha are able to use their phones Monday morning. That wasn't the case for a portion of the weekend.  Communication went out after a line was cut by a construction crew at the intersection of highways 67 and 136 on Saturday. Windstream customers in Richardson County were also affected and weren't able to contact 911, even with a cell phone.  A representative with Windstream crews had to replace damaged fiber under the highway.
