UN Regents Says No Special Treatment for Heineman

The chair of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents has issued a statement making clear no preferential treatment will be given Governor Heineman if he decides to apply for the position of president.  Howard Hawks says Heineman's potential candidacy "would be considered and evaluated like that of any other applicant."  If the governor is a candidate, we won't know until four finalists are named because the search process is designed to be confidential until that point.  On his statewide call-in show hear on KFOR 1240, Governor Heineman said he's giving the president's job some thought.
