State Track Begins Today in Omaha

The State Track meet gets underway at Omaha Burke this morning.   Three Lincoln girls will be among the athletes to watch this weekend.  North Star's Jerelyn Poe is a three-time state cross country champion and continues to search for her first gold medal at the track meet.   She'll compete in the mile and two-mile races.  Northeast's Toni Tupper, who's heading to Creighton to play volleyball, is the two-time defending Class A shot put champion and will look to make it three in a row.  Southwest's Steph Ahrens ranks first in the high jump, second in the triple jump and third in the 100 hurdles.
