Task Force Catches, Lodges Fugitive Without Incident
(5-21-14) The Metro Fugitive Task Force was determined to put the search of a man to rest when they set up surveillance on North 27th Street. It worked. After looking for 45-year-old Joseph Sims since last month, officials arrested him Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites. Sims was wanted for three felony warrants; two possession of controlled substances charges and one possession with intent to deliver charge. Lancaster County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jeff Bliemeister said that, when arrested, Sims had at least three different kinds of prescription pills and 0.1 grams of suspected black tar heroin on him. Sims was jailed on his warrants and for the drugs he had on him at the time of the arrest. Sims is a Lincoln local.
