Supposed Magazine Salesman Scams Lincolnites out of Thousands

Lincoln Police are warning you about potential door-to-door salesmen involved in what may be a scam.   Always make sure they have a peddler's permit, which is something door-to-door sales people are required to have in Lincoln.  There have been several cases in a south Lincoln neighborhood where checks were provided to these salesmen ranging from $22 to $46, only to find out those checks were cashed for $2,800.  Police Officer Katie Flood says these salesmen are not necessarily targeting a certain group of people.  In these latest cases, women between their 40s and 80s, were the victims.
