NPPD Restores Power to Sutton, Fixes Three of Four Major Lines

(5-15-14) By tomorrow, three of the four major electric transmission lines that were damaged in Sunday's storm will be up and running again. Yesterday, the Nebraska Public Power District fixed two of the power lines and restored power to the City of Sutton. Since Monday, the city had been using temporary power sources. The District says that the fourth line will take several weeks to repair, as 99 wood and two steel structures were damaged. That line runs between McCool and Hallam and is expected to be repaired by July 1. The total cost of the repairs is 16.9 million dollars.
