Buffett to Speak at Annual Berkshire Meeting on Saturday
The 83-year-old "Oracle of Omaha" is bound to be asked about his stock market savviness this weekend during Berkshire's annual meeting in Omaha on Saturday. Despite the fact Buffett hasn't beaten the stock market in four of the past five years, he knows how to buy low and sell high. Author and investor, Jeff Matthews, who wrote "Warren Buffett's Successor: Who It Is and Why It Matters," says too many investors focus on recent history. Berkshire Hathaway has only trailed the S&P 500 10 times since Buffett took over in 1965. Over those years, Berkshire has delivered compounded annual gains of almost 20% compared to the S&P 500's 10%. Berkshire is also sitting on at least $48 billion in cash.
