(4-25-14) A five-hour standoff on Thursday resulted in three arrests after a passenger of a vehicle used a gun to threaten two people. Two Coloradans in town for job interviews were playing Frisbee in the Save Mart parking lot at 11th and Cornhusker when a 2005 gold Nissan parked in between them. Sgt. Jeri Roeder said the passenger, 19-year-old Anthony Parks, pulled a large, silver handgun out of a tan and plaid Gucci handbag, pointed it at the male victim's chest and said, "What are you looking at? Get back in your car and nobody gets hurt." The suspects in the Nissan drove off and the victims, uninjured, gave police the description and lisence plate number of the car. Police were able to trace the vehicle to a residence on N. 10th Street between Judson and Groveland. A Lancaster County canine team was called to the area as well as the SWAT team. The forces waited for hours to obtain a search warrant and, before they did, the two suspects surrendered and came out of the house. Parks was arrested for making terroristic threats and the driver, 20-year-old Javontae Timothy, was arrested for aiding and abetting terroristic threats. 21-year-old Keesha Hamilton was also arrested at the house for an unrelated warrant. No one was injured.
