Lincoln Southwest Forensics Team Organizes Garage Sale Benefit
The Lincoln Southwest high school forensics program--which consists of both the speech team and debate team--is holding a garage sale on Saturday, Apr. 26, to raise money for their two upcoming national tournaments. Southwest instructor and speech coach Matt Heimes says the forensics team is asking the community, parents and any of the 105 team members to donate items for the sale. The group is accepting new and gently items like clean clothes, small furniture and appliances, toys, bikes, books, movies and craft supplies. Anyone can drop off items on Friday, Apr. 25 from 3 to 9 p.m. Donators should follow the signs and pull up to the north side of the building where students on the team will help unload items. The garage sale will be on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to the public. The speech and debate tournaments are both in June--one in Minnesota and one in Kansas.
