Stranger to Elliott Student: "Do you want to get in the car?"
(4-23-14) An 8-year-old student was picking up trash outside of Elliott Elementary School with his class for Earth Day yesterday when he was approached by a man in a car at 3:30 p.m. The man asked in Spanish if the 8-year-old boy wanted to get into the car. The bilingual boy refused and, instead, ran away and told an adult. The suspect is described as Hispanic male with dark hair, driving a blue, two-door sedan. The boy said the car had either a red door or red window with some white on it. Officer Katie Flood said the Lincoln Police Department will increase patrol in the 25th and N area for the next couple of days. Last week, a man around Hill Elementary approached a 9-year-old student who was running with an after-school program around 4 p.m. He asked if she wanted a beer and then grabbed her hand. She also ran away and told an adult at the school. The two suspects are different people.
