New Floodplain Map Means Changes for Flood Insurance

Some property owners in Lincoln will pay less for insurance in the future.  A new Floodplain map has been produced as a result of the Antelope Valley Project, and the higher capacity of the creek channel. It means 120 acres and 430 buildings are no longer in the Antelope Creek  floodplain. The area ranges  from Holmes Lake to “A” Street. The change means flood insurance will no longer be required in the area. That's $700,000 in total savings for flood insurance premiums. The effective date of the new floodplain map is June 27.
