Tomasevicz Wins Bobsled Bronze, Will Retire
Nebraska native Curt Tomasevicz and his 4-man bobsled teammates took home the bronze medal today in Sochi. The Russian team, lead by Alexander Zubkov, won gold while Latvia earned silver. After the race, Tomasevicz officially retired from the sport of bobsledding. "This was it for me," said Tomasevicz, a gold medalist four years ago. "I can't imagine walking out on a better note, even a gold medal four years from now. The way we fought for the last four years, the way the competition got better for the last four years, crossing that finish line was maybe the greatest moment I've felt in a bobsled. It's pretty epic." The USA team's time of 3:40.99 was only .39 seconds off of the gold medal time.
