Tatum Edwards was named one of 30 national candidates for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award on Thursday. Edwards was the only Big Ten player named a candidate, while she is the third Husker softball player to be a Senior CLASS Award candidate. The award honors the attributes of senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition. The Senior CLASS Award candidate class will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and the 10 finalists will be placed on the official ballot, which includes fan voting. Earlier this month, Nebraska's Jordan Hooper and Creighton's Doug McDermott were named as candidates for the basketball CLASS award.
