The man accused of killing Jarvis Long has been charged with second degree murder in Lancaster County Court. 30-year-old LaRon Branch appeared before a judge today as the Lancaster County Attorney charged him with 2nd degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Bail was set at $500,000. Branch was booked into the Lancaster County Jail early Saturday morning. Police say that Jarvis and Branch knew each other, and according to a police affidavit, Branch told several people that he was jumped by three people in the park and that a knife was involved in the struggle. Police believe that one of the men in the fight was Long. Investigators say there is a possibility that more people were involved. Police confirmed Tuesday that there is no indication that the homicide was drug or gang related and say the death investigation is ongoing.
