Police Chief Says Murder Investigation Is Ongoing



Still few details released in the investigation of Lincoln's first murder of 2014, but Police Chief Jim Peschong confirms today their investigation is far from over.  27-year-old Jarvis Long of Lincoln was found dead from several stab wounds inside Peter Pan Park near 31st and "W" Streets.  One arrest has been made.  On Saturday, 30-year-old LaRon Branch of Omaha was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and use of a weapon to commit a felony.  At this time, Chief Peschong says there is nothing to indicate the crime is gang related .  If you have any more information about this case, you're being asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
