Voter Registration Info Due January 24
LINCOLN -- If you plan to participate in the mail-in voting of the Lincoln Public Schools bond issue February 11, you need to make sure your voting information is updated. Lancaster County Election Commissioner Dave Shively says Nebraska law does not allow the U.S. Postal Service to forward ballots to a new address. Even if a voter has moved and filed a change of address with the U.S. Postal Service, the ballots will be returned to the election office as undeliverable. You can register to vote through the mail. Mail-in registration forms are available at most post offices, banks, and libraries. A voter registration form is also available on the Lancaster County Election Commissioner’s website: lancaster.ne.gov/election. In order for a voter registration to be effective for the February 11th Election, any registration received through the mail must be postmarked no later than Friday, January 24.
