HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: Peterson's Three Lifts Southeast Past Northeast

LINCOLN -- Lincoln Southeast's Clayton Peterson hit a three pointer in the final seconds to beat Lincoln Northeast 55-52 Saturday night in boys basketball at Northeast's Ed Johnson Gym.  Southeast, now 5-1 on the season, trailed much of the game.  Luke Gifford scored 16 points to lead the Knights, while BJ Day added 15 points and Peterson finished with 11.  Peyton Helmstadter led Northeast with 16 points, while Skyler Kilzer added 11 points for the Rockets, who are now 3-3 on the year.  Both teams will take Christmas off and then prepare for next weekend's Heartland Athletic Conference basketball tournament.
