Nebraska Ranks Top 5 Nationally for Volunteer Numbers



LINCOLN -- When it comes to volunteering, Nebraska ranks in the Top 5 nationally. First Lady Sally Ganem says volunteerism is one thing that sets Nebraska apart. Ganem, who also serves as Honoary Chair of ServeNebraska which coordinates and supports community involvement, wants to remind you that during the Holiday season, you have a variety of volunteering options to choose from. About 36% of Nebraskans volunteered in 2012, where 494,000 people gave nearly 51-million hours of community service worth an estimated $870-million.
