NWU's Wardyn Ends Football Season With Player of The Week Honor

LINCOLN -- Nebraska Wesleyan junior linebacker Seth Wardyn is this week’s Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for games played on Nov. 16.  Wardyn returned a blocked field goal 87 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter of the Prairie Wolves 43-14 victory over Hastings College in the season finale last Saturday at Abel Stadium.  The Grand Island Central Catholic H.S., graduate picked up the blocked field goal by Brandon Reeves and made a highlight reel return 87 yards down the sideline, breaking tackles and spinning out of potential tacklers while staying in bounds along the home sidelines.  Wardyn also returned a punt for 10 yards and had five tackles with a pass breakup as the starting safety for the Prairie Wolves defense.  Nebraska Wesleyan finished the season 6-4 overall and 6-3 in GPAC play to finish 4th in the GPAC league standings.
