Man Faces Accessory Charges In Two Lincoln Murders

LINCOLN -- An arrest in connection to a couple of unsolved summertime murders in Lincoln.  Police arrested 19-year-old Richard McLaughlin III as an accessory to both crimes and will be arraigned Wednesday.  Chief Jim Peschong says it doesn't appear the victims, 27-year-old David Mueller and 20-year-old Nathan Shane Walton, knew one another and the person who killed both men didn't know them at all.  Mueller's body was found early on June 29th near 14th and Benton, while Walton was found severely beaten an hour later near 38th and "L" Street.  Walton died on July 2, while Mueller died on July 7.   Peschong says they believe both murders may have been random.  He says their investigation continues.
