LINCOLN -- As the Nebraska football team prepares for Saturday’s Big Ten conference home match-up with Northwestern, there are constant questions about the status of quarterback Taylor Martinez, who suffered a hip-pointer on Saturday and is nursing a sore shoulder and toes. Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck says quarterbacks Tommy Armstrong and Ron Kellogg are ready to step up if needed. Junior running back Ameer Abdullah, did not practice Tuesday. Beck says Abdullah is just beat up a bit. He’ll be ready to play this weekend.
