NWU's Latimer Named Defensive Player of The Week

LINCOLN -- Nebraska Wesleyan defensive lineman Phil Latimer is this week’s Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played on Sept. 28. Latimer, a junior from Broomfield, Colo., had 2.5 quarterback sacks and 3.5 tackles-for-loss in the Prairie Wolves upset win at #17 Northwestern College. The win snapped the Prairie Wolves 13-game losing streak to the Red Raiders. Latimer was a driving force to the Prairie Wolves defense’s dominant performance over Northwestern. He was part of the defensive line that allowed just 43 rushing yards on the day and 263 total yards
