Challenge To Keystone Pipeline Goes To Court
LINCOLN -- Friday begins an important court challenge of a state law giving the governor the power of eminent domain. Three Nebraska landowners are challenging the constitutionality of LB 1161, passed in the final hours of 2012 legislative session. It put review and approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline route through Nebraska into the Governor's hands. If a judge comes down on the side of the landowners, it could send TransCanada temporarily back to the drawing board. The setback would likely be a few years and not permanently.
