NE Guard Called To Help Fight Colorado Fires



LINCOLN -- Arial">A Nebraska Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopter and crew spent less than 24 hours helping fight wildfires near Colorado Springs. The call to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency came in Saturday. The chopper was expected to arrive in Denver by Noon, but a firefighting crews decided to fight the Black Forest fire on the ground putting out hot-spots, so the Nebraska Guard helicopter, as well as choppers from Wyoming and other parts of Colorado were sent back to their home bases.
