Stolen Vehicle Used In Sandwich Shop Burglary

LINCOLN -- Arial">A stolen vehicle was used in a burglary of a south Lincoln sandwich shop early Wednesday. Lincoln Police spokesperson Katie Flood says the owners of the stolen 2003 Silver Toyota Matrix were awakened by their barking dogs around 130am. Someone got in through an unlocked door to a garage at the home near 84th and "A" Street and took off with the car. About 20 minutes later, officers responded to an alarm at the Subway near 84th & Highway 2. Nearby surveillance captured images of a car similar to the one stolen, ramming the front door to gain entry. A safe and cash were taken.  Damage is estimated to be around $10,000.  Police continue looking for the stolen car, with Nebraska license plate number SSN 145.
