Hohensee's 15 Ks Help East In Victory Over Southeast

LINCOLN -- Lincoln East pitcher Jake Hohensee struck out 15 Knight batters to earn a three-hit shutout and help the Spartans to a 3-0 victory over Lincoln Southeast Monday afternoon at Sherman Field.  After Alec Lake reached on an error and Mason Carpenter hit a one-out single in second inning, Hohensee bounced back and struck out the final three batters.  The Spartans picked up a boost in the fourth inning, when Alex Hulewicz singled and catcher Jon Lyons reached on an error.  Hulewicz scored off an Eric Barton ground out to second and Bryan Reimers singled to score Lyons' courtesy runner, Brady Pramberg for a 2-0 lead.  Carpenter singled again for Southeast in the fifth before Hohensee struck out the rest of the side.  East scored another run off a Hank Neal single in the sixth to seal the win.
