LINCOLN -- The Nebraska sand volleyball team begins the 2013 season Thursday, traveling to southern California for a string of matches. First, it's Florida State and Pepperdine. Then tomorrow and Saturday, the Huskers participate in the Chula Vista Tournament before heading to Long Beach for a match with Long Beach State on Tuesday. Sand volleyball was added at Nebraska in early January, giving the Huskers 24 intercollegiate programs, including 14 women’s teams and 10 men’s teams.
