Wind Energy Testing Turbine Moving Close To Lincoln

LINCOLN -- Companies are starting to show interest in Nebraska for wind energy. Volkswind USA, of Portland, Oregon will move a survey tower so it can check wind speeds closer to Lincoln in Lancaster County. The nearly 200-foot-tall tower will be moved from Gage or Jefferson counties, where Volkswind has been checking wind for the past couple of years. Volkswind announced last March that it was checking the two counties for a potential wind farm. Volkswind President Jeffrey Wagner says the Lancaster County tower will help Volkswind determine the area's wind potential.
