Lawmaker Wants To Raise Nebraska's Tax On Beer

LINCOLN -- Nebraska's 31-cents per gallon beer tax is already the highest of any bordering states, but Hyannis Senator Al Davis wants to raise it 5 cents higher. Senator Davis says the $2-PLUS million raised over the next two years would be split between the State Patrol Cash Fund and county law enforcement agencies. Senator Davis says the money would increase staffing to combat alcohol related crimes.
