OMAHA -- What if a school was designed to reduce obesity and foster student health ??? It's already happening. University of Nebraska Medical Center obesity experts developed guidelines incorporated into a Virginia elementary school. The school has a cafeteria full of fresh food, a school garden where students grow food for the cafeteria while also burning calories and a food lab where kids learn how to prepare healthy foods. UNMC officials say merging architecture with public health establishes a healthy environment.
