When it comes to Governor Heineman's proposals to eliminate the state income tax and dozens of sales tax exemptions, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is not a fan. President Wendy Birdsall said in a prepared statement that without further evidence and econometric analysis, the Chamber cannot support the governor's proposals or justify the leap of faith. Birdsall says, quote, "the negative impacts on manufacturing, bioscience and health businesses are simply too egregious to accept," end quote.
