Nebraska Expects To Sign At Least 24 New Players

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - National analysts say it appears Nebraska coach Bo Pelini will sign a football recruiting class that does a good job filling pressing needs.
Pelini is scheduled to announce a class of at least 24 players during a signing-day news conference Wednesday afternoon in Lincoln.
ESPN recruiting analyst Jeremy Crabtree says the Cornhuskers are adding depth at linebacker and running back and have their quarterback of the future in Johnny Stanton of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.
Depending on the recruiting service, Nebraska will sign between five and eight four-star prospects on a five-star scale.
The Huskers are a consensus third in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Michigan.
As of Tuesday night, Nebraska's class was rated 10th nationally by Scout.com, 16th by Rivals.com and 22nd by ESPN.com.
