OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The 16th-ranked Creighton basketball team will visit Saint Mary's for a Feb. 23 game in the BracketBuster.The game in Moraga, Calif., will tip off at 5 p.m. CST and be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Creighton coach Greg McDermott said after pairings were announced Monday that his team is excited to play the Gaels in front of a national TV audience.
The Bluejays are 20-3 and No. 28 in the RPI. Saint Mary's is 19-4, including 13-0 at home, and is No. 58 in the RPI. The Gaels are receiving votes in this week's polls.
Creighton and Saint Mary's have split four all-time matchups. Creighton defeated the Gaels 79-73 in the last meeting, in December 1979.
Creighton is 7-3 in BracketBuster games, including 3-0 against teams from California.
