A recent drug arrest has authorities warning citizens about the dangers of marijuana-laced candy. Sheriff Terry Wagner discussed the case and urged the public to be vigilant in regards to the sometimes innocent-looking sweets. Wagner says that the tobacco and alcohol industries have both come under fire for products such as candy cigarettes and so-called “alco-pops.” He says that marijuana packaged to look like candy can have the same impact and can target young consumers. Candies such as “Cheeba Chews” are difficult to distinguish from regular sweets and parents are urged to pay attention to any suspicious looking snacks.
