December DUI Enforcement Continues

Lincoln Police have more enforcement to deal with drunk driving during the holidays. Police Chief Jim Peschong told KFOR News that during the month of December, there have been around 150 DWI arrests. Peschong said that during the past three years, the total number of DWI arrests on Thursdays has decreased, while the number of DWI arrests on Saturdays and Sundays has increased. Peschong says that with New Years Eve coming up, more officers will be on patrol and more enforcement will be out. Peschong is encouraging citizens to use the cab service, designated drivers or hotels to keep away from drunk driving. He says that police hope to make no DWI arrests over the holiday weekend.
