A residential parking ban is now in effect as city snow plows work into neighborhoods following the blizzard. Scott Opfer of Lincoln's Public Works says the blowing and drifting snow was a problem for crews plowing the main arterials. Opfer says there's a sheet of ice underneath the main snow pack on many city streets. He hopes that the sun will help the salt start to melt that ice. The parking ban is on the even-numbered sides, or north and east sides, of the street. The ban will switch to the south and west sides tomorrow morning (Friday).
