As of midnight, 3 inches of snow were reported at the Lincoln Airport, but there's a whole lot more than that in neighborhoods all around the city; 6 to 8 inches were reported in the Omaha area. Snow crews have been out since 5 o'clock yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon.Parking is not allowed on snow routes, bus routes and main arterial streets. A residential parking ban takes effect at 8 this morning; parking will NOT be allowed on the EVEN side of neighborhood streets.
Parts of I-80 are closed this morning (Thursday) west of Lincoln due to deteriorating conditions. A State Patrol dispatcher tells KFOR NEWS westbound traffic is closed from the Shoemaker exit to the Utica exit, that's about a 30 mile stretch. Interstate 80 eastbound at the Ogallala exit and westbound at the Kearney exit are closed. State Patrol spokesperson Deb Collins said one vehicle fatality has been reported near North Platte.
