A one-year-old boy was taken to Crete Hospital on Wednesday after suffering severe head injuries. Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner told KFOR News that a medical exam revealed two separate areas in the child's brain that were bleeding internally, swelling of the brain and a partially-healed buckle fracture of his left arm. An investigation led to the arrest of 25-year-old Matthew Wylie for felony child abuse; the child's mother, 22-year-old Kayla Jurgensen was cited and released on child abuse charges. Wylie is currently on parole for 2nd degree assault and child abuse stemming from a 2009 case. One of the conditions of Wylie's parole was that he not be around children under the age of 12.Pictured: Matthew Wylie, Kayla Jurgensen
