Braving bitterly cold temperatures, citizens took to the streets of downtown Lincoln yesterday (Monday) to protest the possibility of middle income Americans bearing the brunt of Congress' inability to act on taxes. Carrying signs which read, "Don't Cut Our Medicare Benefits" and "Don't Cut Our Social Security Benefits," protesters got honks of support. Matt Perlinger of the Omaha Social Security Office told our television partner, 10/11 NEWS, that Social Security checks could be delayed 3 to 4 months unless members of Congress act. They have 20 days to prevent it.
