A 24-year-old Lincoln woman has changed her plea to no contest in the child abuse case of a 12-year-old girl who died of a drug overdose in March. Ashley Jackson originally pleaded not guilty in Lancaster County District Court to child abuse resulting in death, but changed her plea Monday. Jackson faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine when she's sentenced in February. Jackson hired Serena Garrett to babysit her twin infants. Police say Jackson smoked methamphetamine and supplied the girl and other people at her house with alcohol and drugs. After Jackson left, Serena was sexually assaulted by a 20-year-old man, then died of a prescription drug overdose.
