Authorities say a 37-year-old Beatrice man has suffered several injuries after accidentally shooting himself while trying to clean his handgun. Michael McAtee was treated at Beatrice Community Hospital on Monday night and has been discharged. Police Lt. Mike Oliver says McAtee was trying to clean his 9 mm handgun when it fired. The bullet went through one of McAtee's palms, wrists and thighs before embedding in a bedroom wall. Police say two other people in the house were not injured.
