Overheated wires in an attic caused a smoky smell last night (Monday) inside a house in the 1700 block of C Street. No damage was reported. Firefighters arrived before there was a fire.
Meanwhile, careless smoking is being blamed for starting yesterday afternoon's (Monday) fire on the front porch of a house at 2430 P Street. The cigarette butt was tossed into a flammable container, causing $2,000 damage to the porch.
