Cornhuskers Play Md.-Eastern Shore In NCAA Opener



LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska is seeded No. 4 and will spend the opening weekend of the postseason at home for the ninth straight season after being named host of first- and second-round matches in the NCAA tournament.
Kansas State (21-8) will play Northern Iowa (24-9) at 4:30 p.m. CST on Thursday. Nebraska (23-6) will play Maryland-Eastern Shore (28-5) at 7 p.m., or 30 minutes after the first match.
Thursday's winners play Friday at 7 p.m. for the right to move to the Omaha Regional the following weekend.
K-State and Nebraska met in the second round in Lincoln a year ago, with the Wildcats upsetting the Huskers in a five-set thriller.
