Camacho Clinically Brain Dead
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Doctors say former world champion boxer Hector "Macho" Camacho is clinically "brain dead" after being shot in the face. ESPN reported this morning (Friday) that two of Camacho's aunts have decided to wait a couple more days before taking the 50-year old off of life support.
Camacho was shot as he and a friend sat in a car parked outside a bar Tuesday night.
Camacho was considered a volatile but skilled and popular boxer who battled drugs, alcohol and other problems. He had a career record of 79-6-3. He won super lightweight, lightweight and junior welterweight titles.
